Re: Video: Making the English Bitter

This beer was made on August 19. We are probably going to keg it by the end of the week. Stay tuned for a kegging video. I took a hydrometer reading and tasted it yesterday. It tastes great already.

Re: Video: Making the English Bitter

A suggestion would be to remove the label from the LME before you open the lid. I like to save my labels as a neat record of each brew. Additionally, when I have several different varieties of beer aging in my cellar I color code each bottle cap with a bulls-eye peel off sticker. I associate a cap color with a colored bull-eye on the LME can label. Then I save the labels neatly in my makebeer catalog where I can write "tasting notes for each recipe on the back of the label... Save your Labels!

Thanks John. That's a good idea.

Re: Video: Making the English Bitter

I have brewed the kit in early October and have it bottle conditioning to date. Can you give me an idea of a commercial brew that I can use as a basis of comparison?

Re: Video: Making the English Bitter

Inspiration for English Bitter was Adnams Bitter. Intention was to emphasize the roasted malts and lift the aroma with Styrian Golding floral notes.
