Re: Customer Recipe: Coopers Vanilla Cream Lager
This recipe sounds great, but I have a question regarding the Vanilla flavoring : Do you mean using vanilla extract or actual vanilla beans? And if you use beans, what is the proper way to add them in for flavoring. This will be my first "experimental" beer that doesn't use all the normal Cooper's products, so any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Customer Recipe: Coopers Vanilla Cream Lager
Sorry, I should have clarified that! Vanilla extract should work just fine.
The tablespoon of vanilla extract is added during the bottling phase. So this assumes you are using Coopers bottles which are 24oz bottles. If you are using bottle of a different size you would want to adjust the amount of Vanilla accordingly.
For me I drop the carbonation drops into the bottle, then a tablespoon of vanilla, and then fill them with beer. After sealing the bottle I usually turn them upside down once or twice, just to ensure everything is being properly mixed up.
Give the beer a couple weeks to carbonate, and you should be all set.

Re: Customer Recipe: Coopers Vanilla Cream Lager
The 1 tablespoon vanilla flavoring was added to the entire 6 gal batch then stirred then bottled as usual.
Vanilla flavoring or extract will work just fine.
I would recommend using a bulk priming method to prime this beer rather then adding sugar to each individual bottle.
Bulk priming a batch of beer is much easier.....
Mix toghther 5-6oz of corn sugar (depending on how carbinated you like your beer) and 2cups of water.
Then boil this mixture for 15min, then pour this sugar soultion into a sterile 6gal bottling buckett or coopers fermintator.
Now siphion your fermintated wort onto this suger solution.(leaving all the settled yeast and sediment behind)
Once siphoned this is where you would add your vanilla flavoring. Lightly stir the beer with a sanitized spoon being careful not to oxygenate the beer.
Bottle as usual, Now you don't need add sugar to each individual bottle. Try it!!....Good Luck!!.....Cheers....Tim
