Daylight savings is this Sunday the 8th. So remember to move your clocks up an hour at 2:00am this Sunday, unless of course you’re living in the states of Arizona and Hawaii. Apparently these sun-rich states are too good for DST. Folks flaunting there year round tans, while us states that actually have seasons are shifting our entire work-day and schedules just to capture one more glorious hour of sun.

In this day and age who can afford to go out to the bars anymore?
Our economy is in the tank, and is continuing to slide. Everyday there is another round of layoffs at the strongest companies. Money is getting tight and those credit card bills won’t pay themselves. Most folks can’t afford all those nice luxuries that they once could.

It’s Sunday morning. My daughter took the bus to go skiing. My son is busy playing with his sleepover playdate. It’s time to have a cup of coffee and check my email. Back in Business
Last week after I uploaded my blog entry, I decided to be tricky and play with some of the MakeBeer.net blog settings. Although I consider myself to be fairly technologically proficient, the blog application proved to be too much for me to handle. I only succeeded in wiping out all the entire blog. Thank to the folks Gravitate Design we are back up and running. One of my New Year’s resolutions is to not play around with the blog settings too much.

My wife persuaded me that we should spend the Christmas holiday in Montana this year. Since most of her family lives there in the Bitterroot valley, I can understand why. We usually spend it in Seattle. The tricky part is driving the whole family and the dog over several mountain passes. The weather in Seattle was already a little dicey with the hilly side streets mainly ice. We decided to leave on the Saturday before Christmas and take 2 days to get there. My son needed to attend his Tae Kwan Do promotion test that Saturday so we wouldn’t be able to leave until that afternoon. The weather forecast was 8 inches of snow that evening. We finally left Seattle at 2:00 PM. The conditions on Snoqualmie pass were reasonable and there weren’t many trucks about. We crossed the Columbia River and it was clear sailing until we reached Spokane which had 2 ½ feet of snow the day before.
